Systems Security Engineer I (Aerospace)

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado, United States; primarily in office

Estimated starting salary: $86,141.20–$118,444.15 per year.

What you will do

• Assist with designing, implementing, and maintaining secure IT systems and networks.
• Monitor and tune security systems to identify and mitigate threats.
• Participate in incident response, digital forensics, loss prevention, and breach impact assessment.
• Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments and implement security controls and protocols.
• Research security tools, document security incidents, and support security policies and procedures.
• Participate in an on-call incident response rotation and occasional travel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in systems security, network engineering, information technology, or a related engineering discipline, or 4 years of related experience instead.
• 0–2 years of experience in IT security or a related field.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and familiarity with NIST and ISO 27001.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required for employment.
• Ability to work at a computer for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.

Nice to have

• ISSO, Security+, CISA, CASP+, MCSE, Linux, or CCNP Security certification.
• Experience with firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
• Experience in the aerospace or defense industry.
