Information Systems Security Engineer

Location: Los Angeles, California, United States; onsite

Salary: $150,000–$190,000 per year in base compensation, excluding bonuses, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and document security architecture for classified and unclassified information systems in line with RMF, NIST 800-37, ICD 503, and applicable DoD and IC overlays.
• Own the security engineering lifecycle from initial architecture through Assessment and Authorization and ongoing continuous monitoring after Authority to Operate.
• Run and interpret ACAS, SCAP, Nessus, and equivalent vulnerability scans, triage findings, and drive remediation.
• Evaluate hardware, software, and firmware changes for security impact and oversee configuration management decisions.
• Implement and validate STIG and SRG hardening across Windows, Linux, and network infrastructure.
• Support incident response, root-cause security analysis, security policy development, and compliance with DCSA, DSS, and IC security requirements.

Requirements

• At least a bachelor’s degree and 7 years of Information Assurance or Information System Security experience, or a master’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience.
• DoD 8140 Cyber Workforce IAT Level 2 or IAM Level 1 certification.
• Strong knowledge of RMF, STIGs, system hardening, network security, secure architecture, and vulnerability management.
• Experience across hardware, software, networking, and mission system integration environments.
• Experience with cloud security platforms in production, development, quality-assurance, and staging environments.
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and the ability to work onsite in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting military aircraft, mission systems, counter-UAS, or tactical communication platforms.
• Experience with cybersecurity test events, airworthiness, or platform accreditation activities.
• Strong knowledge of major cloud environments.
