Assistant Director, Wealth Accounting

Location: Milwaukee, WI, United States; hybrid

Salary: $108,160–$162,240 annually. Geographic-specific ranges may apply: $118,960–$178,440 or $124,400–$186,600.

What you will do

• Oversee financial accounting functions, controls, transactions, and balances for wealth management and broker-dealer subsidiaries.
• Coordinate month-end close, trial balance quality assurance, financial analysis, forecasting support, and regulatory audit information.
• Provide finance subject matter expertise for complex cross-departmental projects involving wealth products, systems, and processes.
• Lead continuous improvement of financial analysis, transactional accounting, reconciliation, automation, and internal control capabilities.
• Partner with Wealth, Finance, IT, operating departments, and external business partners to improve investment product administration and accounting processes.
• Research and implement new GAAP guidance and resolve complex technical accounting issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least 7 years of relevant professional accounting experience.
• Experience applying statutory or GAAP accounting standards in insurance or financial services.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, research, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Proven leadership in people management, change management, and project management.
• Fingerprinting and completion of required forms are required under NMIS and FINRA guidelines.

Nice to have

• Public accounting experience.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
• Experience designing and evaluating controls for Model Audit Rule or Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
