Engineering Design- CAD Developer (AI)

Location: Warren, Michigan, United States; hybrid work with on-site attendance at the Warren Tech Center at least three days per week. Travel is required for less than 25% of the role. The position is not eligible for relocation benefits.

What you will do

• Develop virtual vehicle integration solutions and NX math modeling tools aligned with engineering and program requirements.
• Build NXOpen applications, scripts, user interfaces, and process automation tools that improve design quality and productivity.
• Implement engineering rules, algorithms, constraints, design-for-manufacturability requirements, and best practices in NX workflows.
• Develop and support NX and Teamcenter PLM integrations, including external data exchanges and manufacturing interfaces.
• Collaborate with designers, R&D, manufacturing, deployment, and sustain teams to validate, stabilize, and scale engineering tools.
• Maintain repositories, documentation, testing, code reviews, defect resolution, and software engineering standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Professional experience with Siemens NX for production design, CAD modeling, or virtual integration.
• Experience with Teamcenter, VisMockup or comparable CAD/PLM environments, and NX/Teamcenter data workflows.
• Hands-on experience with the NXOpen API and C# development, including CAD or process automation.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, GD&T, design for manufacturability, assembly, and serviceability.

Nice to have

• Five or more years of software development, IT, CAD automation, or combined NX design and automation experience.
• Experience with parametric design, complex automotive components, unit testing, and code coverage.
• Experience with Teamcenter ITK/RAC customization, CAD integration pipelines, or manufacturing system interfaces.
• Familiarity with GitHub, Jira, GPDL, Knowledge Fusion, legacy NX automation tools, CAE workflows, or AI-assisted coding.
• Master’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related discipline.
