Director Financial Reporting (Mat Leave Coverage) (SaaS)

Location: Toronto, Canada. This is an 18-month fixed-term maternity leave coverage position. Remote and hybrid options may be available across most regions.

Annual base salary: CAD $138,200–$181,400, plus potential bonuses and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the global financial close, consolidation, financial reporting calendar, and ongoing accounting operations.
• Own external audit relationships, accounting positions, technical accounting memos, working papers, and consolidated financial statements under US GAAP.
• Support global tax planning, transfer pricing, SR&ED, tax-return compliance, and sales tax activities with external advisors.
• Partner with FP&A on monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, MD&A, management analysis, and communication of financial risks and opportunities.
• Lead AI-enabled automation for close, reconciliations, variance analysis, reporting, and audit support across NetSuite, Concur, Salesforce, Adaptive Planning, UKG, Snowflake, and Claude.
• Manage, coach, and develop the accounting, audit management, financial reporting, and tax team while supporting sales calls with financial health reviews.

Requirements

• CPA designation, experience at a top-tier accounting firm, and industry experience.
• At least 8 years of experience leading global accounting operations as a Controller or Director.
• At least 4 years of people management experience.
• Advanced knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS, including consolidated financial statements and note disclosures.
• Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP, external auditors, government agencies, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong communication, judgment, collaboration, and continuous-improvement skills.
