Senior Global Commodity Manager – OEM (Semiconductor)

Location: Johor, Malaysia; hybrid work may combine in-office and remote work depending on role and business needs. Regular regional travel across Malaysia, Southeast Asia, and China is required, with occasional international travel.

What you will do

• Develop and execute Malaysia and Southeast Asia commodity strategies for OEM components supporting wafer handling and semiconductor equipment.
• Lead negotiations covering pricing, commercial terms, contracts, capacity commitments, lifecycle support, and long-term supplier agreements.
• Own supplier escalations involving production, quality, delivery, capacity, cost, obsolescence, and technical support.
• Review technical drawings, specifications, bills of material, and supplier documentation to assess requirements, qualification status, lifecycle risk, and sourcing constraints.
• Manage end-to-end sourcing from RFQ and supplier selection through purchase order placement, delivery, and ongoing performance management.
• Improve supplier readiness, continuity of supply, cost performance, component lifecycle management, and scalability for semiconductor equipment manufacturing.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management, program management, and cross-functional supplier initiatives in a global manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing OEM component suppliers, executive-level supplier relationships, sourcing outcomes, supplier risk, and supply assurance.
• Knowledge of the materials order cycle from RFQ through procurement and delivery, with strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and business acumen skills.
• Experience partnering with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain teams.
• Experience with OEM components such as sensors, motors, gate valves, actuators, pumps, bearings, bellows, cables, and other engineered parts used in semiconductor equipment.
• Fluent English is required. A BS or BA degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or another technical discipline is required.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese, Bahasa Malaysia, or another Southeast Asian language.
• Direct experience building supplier networks in Malaysia, Southeast Asia, and China.
• Program or project management training, PMP or PMI certification, and Lean Six Sigma training or certification.
• Experience with Copy Exact, First Article Inspection, supplier qualification, change control, and configuration management.
