TL;DR
Coordinator, Supply Chain (Freight Escalation/Logistics): Monitoring urgent shipments and coordinating recovery actions across carriers, freight forwarders, warehouses, customs brokers, and internal teams with an accent on transportation visibility, risk assessment, and operational continuity. Focus on resolving service failures, developing disruption recovery plans, analyzing recurring transportation risks, and maintaining escalation reporting for global stakeholders.
Location: Kuala Lumpur or Penang, Malaysia. The position may be performed remotely or under a hybrid arrangement based on business needs and company requirements. Assigned shifts provide continuous coverage, including Thursday through Sunday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM MYT, with schedule changes possible for vacation and holiday coverage.

What you will do
- Monitor urgent and high-priority shipments, carrier tracking systems, delays, exceptions, and service risks.
- Lead escalations with carriers, freight forwarders, warehouses, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders.
- Develop and execute recovery plans to reduce shortages, production disruption, customer impact, and additional costs.
- Monitor weather, port congestion, labor activity, geopolitical events, customs delays, and carrier disruptions.
- Maintain escalation records, event timelines, shift handoffs, dashboards, KPIs, SOPs, playbooks, and contact lists.
- Support incident reviews, continuous improvement, training, cross-training, logistics purchase orders, and carrier performance discussions.
Requirements
- Availability for assigned shifts and planned coverage of regional holidays and scheduled vacations is required.
- English fluency in verbal and written communication is required for collaboration with global stakeholders, carriers, and logistics providers.
- Ability to assess transportation risks, identify service failures, and coordinate corrective and preventive actions.
- Strong customer focus, critical thinking, stakeholder management, conflict resolution, attention to detail, and sense of urgency.
- Ability to work a 40-hour compressed schedule with extended operational coverage.
