TL;DR
Sr. Data Analyst (SQL/Data Analytics): Analyzing complex scientific and operational datasets to develop KPI insights, data solutions, and evidence-based recommendations with an accent on data profiling, validation, business process mapping, and stakeholder requirements. Focus on leading UAT cycles, translating business requirements into user stories, designing data flows, and delivering analytics solutions with engineering, product, and business teams.
Location: Remote, must be based in Canada

What you will do
- Analyze complex scientific and operational datasets to identify insights, trends, KPIs, and performance opportunities.
- Map business process rules and create business and data flow diagrams to support system design and optimization.
- Engage stakeholders to identify requirements for current and future data, product, and analytics solutions.
- Lead requirements workshops, user acceptance testing, and training with business users.
- Profile, mine, validate, and test data to ensure it is fit for business use.
- Present ad-hoc analyses clearly and collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams on successful delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience writing complex SQL queries, data mining, data profiling, and data validation/testing.
- At least 5 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or Data Analyst in data and analytics, preferably in a senior or lead role.
- At least 5 years of experience organizing and running user acceptance testing cycles and training business stakeholders.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or MicroStrategy.
- Must be based in Canada. Experience with Agile software development methodology is required.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or Computer Science.
- Experience in the life sciences or biotechnology industry.
