Payer Analytics Consultant (AI)

Location: United States; remote flexibility is offered, with onsite travel to client locations required for consulting engagements.

What you will do

• Translate client and consulting-team questions into data models, reports, dashboards, and analyses.
• Travel onsite to client locations, gather requirements, support live engagements, and build stakeholder relationships.
• Present findings and analyses directly to client stakeholders and explain technical results as actionable recommendations.
• Design and manage queries and data pipelines in client Snowflake or Databricks environments using claims, pharmacy, and provider-performance data.
• Analyze utilization trends, cost drivers, quality metrics, provider performance, and payment-integrity data.
• Use AI and automation to accelerate query generation, summarize insights, reduce manual reporting, and scale analytics workflows.

Requirements

• 7–10+ years of hands-on healthcare data analytics experience at a payer, TPA, health plan vendor, or related consulting firm.
• Deep proficiency in SQL and Power BI and/or Tableau, with experience building production-grade dashboards and reporting tools.
• Experience analyzing medical or pharmacy claims, provider performance, or payment integrity data.
• Ability to translate ambiguous business questions into structured data models and clear analyses.
• Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills, including presenting directly to stakeholders and answering questions in real time.
• Willingness and ability to travel onsite to client locations; familiarity with claims processing, utilization management, HEDIS/STAR quality measures, payment integrity, or provider contracting.

Nice to have

• Python or another scripting language for data manipulation and automation.
• Experience with claims auditing, fraud/waste/abuse detection, provider performance, or network analytics.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, or BigQuery.
• Master’s degree in a quantitative field, Public Health, or a related discipline.
