Senior Data Engineer (Databricks)

Location: Hybrid in Budapest, Hungary

What you will do

• Translate business needs into data requirements and solution plans.
• Participate in technical pre-sales, effort estimation, and proposal creation.
• Architect robust data models and modern cloud data platforms, with a focus on lakehouse architectures.
• Lead the technical development of cloud data solutions.
• Plan and lead testing activities.
• Lead and mentor project teams of 3–6 members.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of data engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, or AWS-based data platforms.
• At least 2 years of technical leadership or team lead experience on data warehouse or lakehouse migration and development projects.
• Experience in consultancy projects, including business logic assessment, proposal submission, and time estimation.
• Strong communication, customer orientation, proactivity, problem-solving, and creativity.
• Professional working proficiency in English and Hungarian, both written and spoken.

Nice to have

• Experience with legacy on-premise platforms such as Oracle or MSSQL.
• Experience working on international projects.
