TL;DR
Senior Data Engineer (Power Platform): Operating and improving the Power Platform frontend of a governed Cloud Data & Analytics Platform integrated with an Azure Lakehouse, with an accent on reliability, security, governance, and self-service BI enablement. Focus on managing Power BI services and gateways, optimizing data refreshes and capacity, aligning Power Platform with Azure backend layers, and coaching business teams on sustainable analytics solutions.

Location: Hybrid in Budapest, Hungary; remote working is available only within Hungary due to European taxation regulation.

What you will do

  • Ensure reliable and performant operation of Power BI Service, Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint Online within the Cloud Data & Analytics Platform.
  • Monitor platform usage, performance, capacity, cost efficiency, data refreshes, and load processes.
  • Manage Power BI gateways, secure Azure Lakehouse connections, RBAC, workspace permissions, and data access controls.
  • Collaborate with platform engineering teams to resolve incidents, coordinate upgrades, and align Power Platform frontend and Lakehouse backend operations.
  • Consult and coach Self-Service BI teams on onboarding, workspace configuration, governance, compliance, solution design, and lifecycle management.
  • Improve documentation, monitoring, deployment, access management, proof-of-concepts, and operational efficiency while evaluating new Microsoft Power Platform and Azure capabilities.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with Power BI Service and Power BI Desktop, including workspace configuration, dataset refreshes, and gateway management.
  • Familiarity with Power Apps and Power Automate for implementing and supporting business process automation in a governed environment.
  • Understanding of Azure governance, identity, and security principles, including RBAC, service principals, and data access control.
  • Practical experience in incident and problem management, including diagnosing, documenting, and resolving platform issues with engineering teams.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly and confidently to non-technical stakeholders and business users.
