Data Engineer (Senior Workday Report Builder & Integration QA)

Location: Hungary; remote work with sufficient overlap with CET working hours

What you will do

• Lead requirements workshops, interviews, and walkthroughs with HR and management stakeholders.
• Translate business needs into structured Workday reporting specifications covering data fields, filters, prompts, security, frequency, and distribution.
• Review legacy reports and determine whether to retire, replace, consolidate, or rebuild them in Workday.
• Build Simple, Advanced, Matrix, Composite, Trending, and Transposed Workday reports, plus dashboards, Discovery Boards, and worklets.
• Configure calculated fields, custom report data sources, prompts, sharing, scheduling, bursting, output formats, and Workday security rules.
• Produce unit-test evidence, support SIT and BAT, resolve defects, and migrate reports across Workday tenants.

Requirements

• Significant hands-on experience in reporting or BI, including Workday reporting.
• Experience with Workday HCM data models, Report Writer, calculated fields, custom report data sources, prompts, dashboards, Discovery Boards, worklets, RaaS, Workday Web Services, security, scheduling, bursting, sharing, output formats, and tenant migration tools.
• Experience with unit testing, SIT, UAT/BAT, defect management, requirements gathering, workshops, traceability matrices, and functional or technical documentation.
• Experience on a full Workday HCM implementation project, ideally including hypercare.
• Fluent English.
• Strong analytical mindset, stakeholder management skills, and the ability to challenge and prioritize requests based on business value and data availability.
• Excellent communication skills, autonomy, and the ability to work remotely with sufficient overlap with CET working hours.

Nice to have

• Workday Pro certification in Reporting or Report Writer.
• Academic background in information systems, computer science, business information management, HR systems, or a related field.
• Knowledge of Workday Prism Analytics, People Analytics, EIB, Workday Studio, Jira, Azure DevOps, Oracle EBS, SAP HR, or international organization environments.
