Senior Project Manager (Defence Projects)

Location: The Netherlands, Rotterdam. Occasional travel within the Netherlands and overseas may be required, including short-notice visits to customer sites.

What you will do

• Manage customer-funded development and production projects for Dutch Ministry of Defence customers.
• Support project bids, assess incoming contracts, define budgets, and plan execution from contract receipt through final customer acceptance.
• Coordinate Sales, Contracts, Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Customer Services, Quality, Accounting, subcontractors, and customers.
• Monitor schedules, costs, forecasts, risks, scope changes, and corrective actions to control delivery and financial performance.
• Coordinate factory acceptance testing, equipment dispatch, delivery, installation, commissioning, and trials.
• Prepare monthly project, revenue, cost, and financial reports for senior management and the board.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of practical project management experience, including managing projects from conception through implementation.
• Knowledge of project management techniques, risk mitigation, project scheduling, lifecycle management, budgets, forecasting, and financial control.
• Experience with military or naval contracts and processes, export compliance, customer liaison, negotiation, and contract scope management.
• Strong communication, report-writing, presentation, multitasking, and customer-focused skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project; commercial awareness and the ability to work independently.
• Fluent business English required. German language skills are desirable but not essential.
