Principal Data Center Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Define and lead data center infrastructure strategy across compute, storage, networking, and facilities.
• Architect scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient solutions across on-premises, colocation, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Establish engineering standards, reference architectures, design patterns, and detailed technical documentation.
• Lead the design and deployment of large-scale data center environments.
• Own infrastructure capacity planning and forecasting, including power, cooling, and space.
• Manage infrastructure lifecycle, service levels, reliability, performance, automation, and energy efficiency.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience in data center engineering, infrastructure architecture, or similar roles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Dutch.
• Strong expertise in data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, racks, and cabling, as well as compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and cloud systems.
• Understanding of high-availability architectures, disaster recovery, and enterprise or hyperscale environments.
• Experience managing colocation providers and vendors, delivering complex infrastructure projects, and using DCIM or observability platforms.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of AI/ML infrastructure, GPU, or HPC systems.
• Electrical certification.
