Director of Manufacturing (Design-to-Manufacturing) (Aerospace)

hirify.global's Orbitworks mission is to make space simple by mass-manufacturing satellites for physical and virtual missions, with operations based in a 50,000-square-foot Abu Dhabi facility.

What you will do

• Lead Manufacturing Systems & MGSE, Verification & Validation Test Engineering, and Test Platform & EGSE teams.
• Translate engineering requirements into production-ready work instructions, bills of materials, routings, assembly workflows, tooling, fixtures, and validated processes.
• Own test readiness, including methods, procedures, scripts, limits, configurations, verification coverage, and evidence.
• Guide the development, validation, deployment, and maintenance of test benches, instrumentation, automation, networking, and spacecraft interfaces.
• Review designs for manufacturability and testability, resolve production and test issues, and drive root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Establish scalable standards and handoffs to Assembly, Integration and Test while developing technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

• Strong manufacturing engineering and test engineering experience translating complex designs into manufacturing and verification systems.
• Expertise in MGSE and EGSE development, implementation, validation, and ongoing support.
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop/software-in-the-loop or similarly complex integration and test environments.
• Practical knowledge of Design for Manufacturing, Assembly and Test, with experience influencing design decisions.
• Technical team leadership and coaching experience across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Experience collaborating with engineering, production, quality, supply chain, and program functions, including hands-on delivery of complex hardware.

Nice to have

• Satellite or aerospace manufacturing experience.
• Electronics or defence/DoD manufacturing experience involving complex, high-reliability systems.
• Experience with ERP/MES systems, agile or concurrent engineering, rapid prototyping, and iterative engineering-to-manufacturing handoffs.
• Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality standards.
