TL;DR
Senior Design Systems Designer (AI): Building and scaling Suitcase, Perk’s accessible design system for web, mobile, and AI-assisted product experiences with an accent on visual language, token architecture, component quality, and Figma-to-code parity. Focus on designing WCAG 2.2 AA components, governing system contributions, integrating design with code and AI tooling, and driving adoption across designers and engineers.
Location: Hybrid, based within commuting distance of the London or Barcelona hubs; in-person work three days per week.

What you will do
- Set the visual and strategic direction for the Suitcase design system and translate it into a roadmap with measurable progress.
- Own the system’s visual language, design tokens, typography, colour, spacing, motion, interaction states, and content tokens.
- Design, document, and refine components with complete states, variants, platform coverage, and usage guidance.
- Write component specifications for AI prototyping tools and improve Figma-to-code parity.
- Build accessibility into components and reviews, including keyboard and screen-reader behaviour.
- Lead contribution governance, champion adoption, and coach designers and engineers across the organisation.
Requirements
- Strong product design experience, including designing and scaling systems for fast-growing web and mobile products.
- Deep knowledge of typography, colour, layout, motion, micro-interactions, and component decision-making.
- Experience with design tokens, naming, theming, documentation, Figma-to-code workflows, and working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Practical experience designing components to WCAG 2.2 AA standards.
- Experience with AI prototyping tools, Storybook, Code Connect, and MCP tooling.
- Experience integrating or consolidating design systems, working with content and localisation, and influencing non-designers through clear decisions and trade-offs.
