Senior EDA Design Automation Engineer - Digital Implementation

Location: Penang, Malaysia; hybrid work model with time split between the assigned hirify.global site and off-site work

What you will do

• Architect and implement EDA tool flows for digital implementation and sign-off, covering front-end and back-end processes from RTL to GDS.
• Develop and deliver design automation flows for advanced technology nodes against tight milestones.
• Collaborate with external EDA vendors to enable reference flows optimized for hirify.global technology platforms.
• Develop and verify hardware designs and integrate components into hierarchical systems for end-to-end tool testing.
• Enhance tools, scripts, and platforms to improve productivity, power, and performance outcomes.
• Analyze design methodologies and contribute to technology transitions, new node enablement, and future EDA initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• For candidates with a Bachelor's degree: at least 8 years of experience developing EDA tools, flows, or design environments for digital or analog designs.
• Experience with EDA tools and workflows, physical design flows, IP integration, and packaging technologies.
• Strong AI and programming skills, including UNIX scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or TCL.
• Familiarity with design flow automation, source control systems, cloud infrastructure, and compute allocation.
• Analytical, debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with automated SoC design methodologies and analog or mixed-signal workflows, including Cadence Genus and Innovus.
• Experience deploying features for revision control, continuous integration, and design data management.
• Ability to interpret EDA industry trends and align tool initiatives with advanced technologies.
