Director of Cloud Infrastructure and Security

What you will do

• Lead and develop six senior engineers across Cloud Infrastructure and Security in a hands-on player-coach role.
• Set the joint strategy, roadmap, operating model, KPIs, SLOs, and risk metrics for both teams.
• Own AWS and GCP infrastructure, Kubernetes platforms, networking, secrets, data stores, edge services, observability, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Establish reliability engineering practices covering error budgets, capacity planning, business continuity, incident management, and disaster recovery.
• Drive FinOps, platform modernisation, developer self-service, GitOps, policy-as-code, and automation of recurring operational work.
• Own cloud and application security, identity, detection and response, vulnerability management, compliance, supply-chain risk, endpoint security, and safe AI adoption.

Requirements

• 8+ years of significant experience in Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Security, including engineering leadership.
• Strong practical experience with public cloud, ideally AWS, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code, with a willingness to remain close to architecture and technical delivery.
• Experience establishing reliability practices at scale, including SLOs, incident management, on-call, capacity planning, and disaster recovery.
• Demonstrable cloud cost optimisation or FinOps results and strong grounding in IAM, network security, secrets management, CSPM, and OWASP Top 10.
• Working knowledge of GDPR, DORA, PCI DSS, NIS2, and other compliance controls, plus experience leading incidents and security events.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical, finance, legal, and product stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with GCP, Vault, Cloudflare, Datadog, ArgoCD, Okta, PHP, Golang, Node, MariaDB, MongoDB, and Kafka.
• Experience building Security Champions programs and establishing secure-by-default development and delivery practices.
