Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS/Kubernetes)

Location: Munich, Germany; hybrid model with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. Remote work is available from within the EU.

What you will do

• Shape the architecture of the AWS and Kubernetes microservice platform using Terraform.
• Build self-service developer-platform capabilities, fast feedback loops, and standardized delivery paths for frontend, backend, and IoT teams.
• Automate operational work with AI agents and design safety guardrails for agent-assisted investigations, reviews, and routine operations.
• Evolve GitLab CI/CD pipelines and progressive delivery workflows for continuous backend, frontend, and IoT deployments.
• Improve observability, monitoring, alerting, and incident response with Datadog.
• Scale systems for thousands of parking lots while balancing reliability, security, cost, and performance.

Requirements

• Deep hands-on production experience with AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes, ideally EKS.
• Experience with GitOps, CI/CD, observability, meaningful alerting, incident response, and security-by-default practices.
• Ability to write automation in Python or TypeScript and use agentic AI tools in daily operations.
• Excellent written and spoken English at C1 level.
• Availability for a hybrid schedule in Munich with three office days per week.

• Experience with IoT or edge deployments.
• Experience running databases at scale.
