Simulation & Digital Twin Engineer (Humanoid Robotics)

Location: Carate Brianza (MB), Italy. Hybrid smart working is available, typically one day per week subject to team policy.

What you will do

• Develop, test, and validate high-fidelity simulation environments and digital twins for humanoid robotics.
• Create physically accurate assets from CAD models or 3D scans and integrate them into USD-based environments.
• Build synthetic data generation pipelines for perception, testing, and learning.
• Structure and optimize simulation environments for reinforcement learning, scalability, and parallel training.
• Develop complex missions, scenarios, robot models, and simulated sensors including LiDAR, cameras, IMUs, and force sensors.
• Support sim-to-real alignment, system validation, and simulation documentation.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field.
• Experience with robotics simulation, physics-based environments, game engines, CAD, or 3D modeling.
• Working knowledge of Python.
• Experience with Isaac Sim, MuJoCo, CATIA, Unity, or similar simulators.
• Familiarity with simulation pipelines, assets, scenes, sensor simulation, CAD models, 3D environments, rendering, physics, testing, and validation.
• A valid driving licence is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with USD or the Omniverse ecosystem.
• Exposure to synthetic data generation and reinforcement learning.
• Familiarity with robot kinematics, dynamics, mechanical modeling, or ROS/ROS 2.
