Head of Industrialization (Humanoid Robotics)

Location: Via Melen 83, Genoa, Italy; onsite, full-time, permanent position. Availability to travel nationally and internationally is required.

What you will do

• Define and execute the industrialization strategy for humanoid robotic platforms across internal manufacturing and externally sourced components and subsystems.
• Build and lead an integrated organization covering components, methods, tools and machinery, manufacturing, and supplier development engineering.
• Translate production targets and product roadmaps into master plans for processes, suppliers, tooling, equipment, facilities, capacity, quality, and capital investment.
• Establish a scalable operating model for the transition from prototypes and pilot production to pre-series, serial production, and rate production.
• Coordinate industrialization activities with Product Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Test Engineering, and external manufacturing partners.
• Own industrialization governance and authorize production-volume increases only after product, supplier, process, tooling, quality, and capacity readiness has been demonstrated.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in mechanical, mechatronics, manufacturing, industrial, automation, or electronics engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in industrialization, manufacturing, process, equipment, supplier development, or advanced manufacturing engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and building industrialization organizations.
• Experience taking complex products from prototype or early development through pre-series, SOP, and production ramp-up, including both Make and Buy scopes.
• Strong knowledge of DfM, DfA, DfT, DfC, APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, process validation, capability analysis, line balancing, capacity planning, automation, and lean manufacturing.
• Fluent English required; Italian is highly valued. Availability for national and international travel is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in humanoid or collaborative robotics, robotic actuators, mechatronic systems, or Physical AI products.
• Knowledge of actuator manufacturing, precision gearboxes, motors, bearings, encoders, force and torque sensing, battery systems, wiring harnesses, and safety-control electronics.
• Experience with pilot plants, advanced manufacturing cells, pre-series lines, greenfield operations, Industry 4.0, digital twins, or virtual commissioning.
• Knowledge of manufacturing simulation platforms such as Siemens Process Simulate, Tecnomatix, DELMIA, Visual Components, or FlexSim.
• Experience with product-cost reduction, design-to-cost, supplier productivity, quality standards, machinery safety, or Lean Six Sigma.
