Principal Technical Program Manager (AI)

Location: Remote; listed locations include Seattle, United States and Sydney, Australia. hirify.global can hire in any country where it has a legal entity.

Base salary: $169,569–$266,725 annually, depending on geographic pay zone. Additional benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity may apply.

What you will do

• Drive standardized tool-calling interfaces, action schemas, and integration patterns for internal and external agent ecosystems.
• Partner with Security and Identity teams on authentication, permissions, tenant isolation, token exchange, and credential management.
• Define agent quality measures, evaluation benchmarks, regression practices, traces, and telemetry for multi-step execution.
• Lead API rate limiting, tenant quotas, concurrency controls, traffic shaping, monetization, versioning, and deprecation practices.
• Establish runtime safeguards such as timeouts, retries, backoff, circuit breakers, and graceful degradation.
• Turn ambiguous multi-team platform problems into roadmaps, milestones, ownership models, and technical decision documents.

Requirements

• 8–10+ years of experience in Technical Program Management, Platform Product Management, software engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience delivering API platforms, distributed backend systems, developer ecosystems, automation platforms, or AI/ML integrations.
• Strong understanding of API architecture, distributed rate limiting, quotas, concurrency controls, resilience patterns, and API lifecycle governance.
• Working knowledge of agent execution, function calling, tool binding, action schemas, integration protocols, and agent quality measurement.
• Ability to partner with senior engineers on technical reviews, RFCs, sequence diagrams, and failure-mode analysis.
• Proven ability to structure ambiguous platform domains, clarify ownership, and deliver outcomes.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI agents, agentic workflows, MCP, OpenAPI-based tool ecosystems, and offline LLM evaluation.
• Experience with developer-facing integration ecosystems, app marketplaces, workflow engines, or automation platforms.
• Familiarity with agent observability, distributed tracing, OpenTelemetry, and evaluation tooling.
• Background in AWS, GCP, Azure, multi-cloud deployments, or hybrid inferencing infrastructure.
