Chief of Staff / Technical Advisor (AI)

Location: Remote, Seattle, United States. hirify.global can hire in countries where it has a legal entity.

Base salary: $195,714–$255,516 in Zone C, $212,220–$277,065 in Zone B, or $235,800–$307,850 in Zone A, plus possible benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.

What you will do

• Advise engineering leaders on high-stakes technical proposals, RFCs, distributed-systems architecture, and architectural trade-offs.
• Drive alignment and remove blockers across multiple engineering teams without direct line authority.
• Define and run department-level operating rhythms, including OKR tracking, milestone reviews, and executive briefings.
• Identify systemic operational risks, platform debt, reliability bottlenecks, and required architectural remediation.
• Translate complex technical dilemmas into decision-ready frameworks for executive and board-level discussions.
• Champion developer productivity, engineering standards, and platform modernization.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, distributed-systems architecture, or technical program management at scale.
• Experience leading cross-organizational initiatives with ambiguous business, product, and technical strategies.
• Deep technical expertise with software, system flows, microservices architecture, and trade-offs such as consistency versus latency and technical debt versus velocity.
• Exceptional communication and framing skills, with experience advising senior executives and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to connect strategy to execution and track delivery health across distributed teams.

Nice to have

• Experience as a Chief of Staff, Technical Advisor, or Principal TPM in an enterprise SaaS engineering organization.
• Experience with large-scale cloud transformations, developer-platform ecosystems, or AI/ML-native architecture.
• Participation in architecture forums, thought leadership, or open-source communities.
