Head of Detection and Response (AI)

Base salary: $244,269–$384,225 annually across United States geographic pay zones.

What you will do

• Own the global detection and response strategy, roadmap, investment plan, governance, OKRs, SLOs, and executive reporting.
• Lead a multi-region organization and build a strong leadership bench and succession plan.
• Scale cloud-native detections across identity, data, endpoints, CI/CD, containers, and SaaS telemetry.
• Run 24x7 incident response, including incident management, executive and customer communications, regulatory readiness, and post-incident reviews.
• Build threat intelligence fusion and hypothesis-driven threat hunting capabilities focused on organization-specific TTPs.
• Partner with Trust Engineering and other security functions on security data platforms, automation, privacy-aware telemetry, and AI-assisted detection and triage.

Requirements

• 15+ years of security experience and 7+ years leading multi-region detection and response or SOC/IR organizations at large-scale cloud-first companies.
• Experience managing high-severity incidents end to end, including executive and customer communications and regulatory readiness.
• Deep knowledge of cloud platforms, identity, endpoint/EDR, data security, CI/CD security, and SaaS telemetry integration.
• Experience deploying SOAR automation and improving MTTD, MTTR, quality KPIs, and SLOs.
• Experience leading threat intelligence or threat hunting teams and applying ATT&CK, the diamond model, and purple-team outcomes to detection engineering.
• Executive presence, board-level communication experience, and familiarity with privacy-by-design, secure AI usage, and ML/LLM evaluation frameworks.
