What you will do
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and improve enterprise Java applications and services.
- Work directly with development teams to identify and resolve barriers to safe, rapid software delivery.
- Modernize applications through dependency upgrades and automated code transformation using tools such as Renovate and OpenRewrite.
- Improve CI/CD pipelines, release branching, versioning, deployment automation, and automated testing.
- Integrate static analysis, code quality gates, application security scanning, SBOM, SARIF, and CycloneDX tooling.
- Support containerized and Kubernetes-based deployments while troubleshooting issues across code, dependencies, builds, configuration, testing, and releases.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong hands-on Java expertise.
- Strong experience with modern Java, Spring Boot, enterprise application architecture, CI/CD, build pipelines, and release processes.
- Experience with Gradle or Maven, dependency management, automated testing, and application modernization.
- Knowledge of application security, vulnerability remediation, software supply-chain security, static analysis, SAST/SCA, or tools such as Snyk, Black Duck, and Checkmarx.
- Familiarity with SBOM concepts, CycloneDX or SARIF, containerized applications, and Kubernetes environments.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work across development teams to drive technical solutions through implementation.
Nice to have
- Experience with Renovate, OpenRewrite, semantic or calendar versioning, release branches, or cascading merges.
- Experience with Node.js/npm, Python/PyPI, .NET/NuGet, Go, Shell, Bash, PowerShell, or Pkl.
- Experience in Software Reliability Engineering, DevSecOps, Platform Engineering, or deployment engineering.
- Experience modernizing applications and software delivery practices in large engineering organizations.
- Financial services or banking experience.
