Program Manager, Hypersonic Vehicle (Aerospace)

Location: Mojave, California, United States; onsite at least 80% of normal work days. Relocation eligible to the local area. A 9/80 schedule applies, with occasional off-nominal hours, weekends, and travel of approximately 10% or less.

Base salary: $134,000–$198,000 annually, established based on experience, location, education, and interview assessment.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, manufacturing, and flight testing of reusable hypersonic test vehicles.
• Oversee multiple concurrent programs, including cost, schedule, technical performance, customer satisfaction, forecasting, budgeting, invoicing, and revenue recognition.
• Lead cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, procurement, finance, legal, and other functions.
• Manage strategic planning, business growth, proposals, capture strategies, technology insertion, and process improvement.
• Serve as the primary contact for customers, government agencies, strategic partners, and major stakeholders.
• Direct risk management, compliance, governance, classified program execution, and executive reporting to the C-suite and Board of Directors.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive technical or program management experience, including at least 5 years in senior or principal-level leadership within aerospace, defense, or high-technology sectors.
• Experience managing complex multidisciplinary programs with annual budgets exceeding $100 million.
• Extensive experience in aerospace program management, subcontracts, procurement, personnel management, aircraft systems, aircraft operations, launch vehicle integration, and ground systems.
• Advanced risk management expertise, classified program experience, and the ability to obtain and maintain a TS security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, business management/administration, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS Project, and other program management tools.

Nice to have

• Airbreathing propulsion technology and hypersonic vehicle development experience.
• Experience with government agencies, regulatory bodies, defense contractors, air-launch, launch vehicle, or aircraft integration programs.
• Large transport-category or military aircraft operations experience.
• PMP, PgMP, or an equivalent advanced program management certification.
