Senior Software Development Engineer (AI)

Location: USA, Colorado, Boulder; flexible hybrid work with at least 50% of each quarter spent in the office or in the field.

Annual base salary: $156,000–$234,000 USD for the primary location; additional US locations offer $148,200–$264,000 USD.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate core services and infrastructure for AI development, evaluation, and deployment.
• Develop production-grade Python backend services, APIs, and integrations for AI capabilities and agent applications.
• Build and operate data ingestion and ETL pipelines for AI application workflows, including large-scale processing with PySpark.
• Apply distributed systems principles to address scalability, concurrency, fault tolerance, performance, security, privacy, and compliance.
• Own services end to end, including deployment, monitoring, debugging, production health, on-call, and operational improvements.
• Partner with product, research, infrastructure, and engineering teams; lead design and code reviews and mentor engineers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software development experience, including architecting, building, and scaling secure and reliable systems.
• 5+ years of Python development experience with advanced concepts such as asynchronous and concurrent programming, generators, and higher-order abstractions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, APIs, networking fundamentals, Unix/Linux environments, and command-line tooling.
• Experience with ETL pipelines, PySpark, cloud and container platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, or GCP.
• Ability to work in the Boulder, Colorado hybrid arrangement and spend at least 50% of each quarter in the office or field.
