HiL V&V Manager (Autonomous Vehicles)

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of HiL test engineers.
• Define the HiL test strategy, roadmap, and technical direction for the autonomous truck safety case.
• Ensure HiL methods, evidence, safety mechanisms, fault handling, triggering conditions, and performance limitations align with ISO 26262 and ISO 21448 (SOTIF).
• Translate functional and safety requirements into traceable HiL test specifications, cases, procedures, and results.
• Plan and oversee test campaigns, including resourcing, scheduling, bench allocation, and milestone delivery.
• Review results, lead defect triage, manage tool and vendor relationships, and communicate V&V status, risks, and findings through dashboards and reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field with 6+ years of experience, or a master’s degree with 4+ years of experience.
• 6+ years of experience driving HiL verification and validation for complex engineering systems.
• Working knowledge of ISO 26262 and ISO 21448 (SOTIF), including their application to HiL-based V&V.
• Understanding of autonomous driving technologies, including LiDAR, radar, cameras, perception, sensor fusion, and vehicle dynamics.
• Working knowledge of ROS/ROS2 monitoring and diagnostics, CAN bus protocols, Vector CANoe, and CANalyzer.
• Proficiency in Python, CAPL and/or C++, and Git, with experience in system troubleshooting, fault isolation, root-cause analysis, and cross-functional stakeholder management.

Nice to have

• Experience contributing to safety cases, safety assurance arguments, or HiL tool and bench qualification.
• Experience with fault injection and verification of safety mechanisms on embedded and ECU-level systems.
• ADAS or autonomous vehicle V&V experience.
• Experience correlating HiL results with simulation and track or road testing.
• Experience hiring, building, and scaling engineering teams.
