Instrumentation Engineer (Wave Energy)

Location: Hybrid role in Stockholm, Sweden

What you will do

• Develop electrical instrumentation, automation, network systems, and extra-low-voltage power distribution for wave energy converters and in-house test systems.
• Define requirements for sensors, actuators, network equipment, digital I/O, industrial PCs, control cabinets, and related components.
• Create wiring schematics, cable lists, and technical documentation using EPLAN.
• Design systems according to IEC, DNV-GL, marine, control-system, and machine-safety standards.
• Perform failure mode, effects, and criticality analysis, design verification, functional testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Investigate solutions that improve performance, reliability, and manufacturability, and support offshore installations.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience developing instrumentation and automation systems for industrial applications.
• Experience with testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Experience with electrical design software, preferably EPLAN.
• Knowledge of instrumentation measurement technologies, robust modular system design, and high-availability systems.
• Knowledge of communication protocols including CAN, EtherCAT, TCP-based communication, IO-Link, and serial communication.
• Proficient spoken and written English; a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in electrical engineering or a related discipline is advantageous.

Nice to have

• Experience working in harsh environments such as offshore or mining.
• Knowledge of applicable standards for marine environments, control systems, and machine safety.
