Senior Robotics Systems Engineer - Robot Intelligence

Location: 665 Clyde Avenue, Mountain View, California, USA; office-based role

Base pay: $163,300–$224,600 USD annually, with annual bonus eligibility and benefits.

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end software architecture for a robot platform, including component interfaces, dependencies, and hardware-software integration.
• Establish repository organization, coding standards, code reviews, testing, documentation, and other maintainable engineering practices.
• Develop and integrate Python and C++ software within ROS and ROS2 systems.
• Build CI/CD pipelines and automated integration tests for simulation and physical robots.
• Maintain Docker-based development and runtime environments across x86-64 and ARM platforms.
• Improve deployment, logging, troubleshooting, and cloud-based AI training workflows for robot and lab systems.

Requirements

• MS degree in computer science, electrical engineering, robotics, or equivalent education, training, and experience.
• At least 5 years of experience conducting state-of-the-art robotics R&D.
• Proficiency in Python and C++, with experience developing and maintaining Linux-based software.
• Experience with ROS/ROS2 and hands-on integration with robotics hardware.
• Experience designing software components and defining interfaces within complex systems.
• Practical experience with Docker, Git, CI/CD, automated testing, troubleshooting, collaboration, and technical documentation.
