Senior Software Engineer (C#/.NET)

Location: Buffalo, New York, United States. Hybrid position requiring four days onsite at the Seneca One Buffalo location and one day working from home per week.

Salary: $97,100–$161,800 annual USD.

What you will do

• Own applications and services across design, development, testing, deployment, production support, modernization, and retirement.
• Design and implement secure solutions across application, API, data, batch-processing, file-processing, and integration layers.
• Lead technical analysis of complex requirements, dependencies, operational constraints, performance, availability, recovery, and security needs.
• Develop production-quality C#/.NET code and improve delivery through automated testing, CI/CD, code-quality tooling, and deployment automation.
• Collaborate with architecture, cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, database, operations, business, and vendor teams.
• Support modernization, observability, incident response, root-cause analysis, disaster recovery, resiliency improvements, documentation, and production readiness.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree plus at least 5 years of systems analysis or application development experience, or bachelor’s degree plus at least 3 years; equivalent experience may be accepted.
• Advanced proficiency in C# and .NET, with experience designing and consuming REST APIs and working with JSON.
• Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, Redis, Azure Functions, Blob Storage, Application Insights, and Dynatrace.
• Experience with OpenShift, containers, Helm, Kubernetes, GitLab, GitLab CI/CD, JFrog Artifactory, and SonarQube.
• Knowledge of automated testing with NUnit or JUnit, automated API and unit testing, batch processing, and enterprise job scheduling tools such as Automic.
• Ability to lead technical discussions, document architecture and implementation decisions, mentor engineers, communicate risks, and work autonomously across complex priorities.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting business-critical applications in regulated environments.
• Knowledge of application security, identity and access, certificate management, vulnerability remediation, networking, and secure data transmission.
• Experience with observability, incident response, disaster recovery, resiliency, production readiness, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Experience using approved AI-assisted development tools while maintaining accountability for code, documentation, and technical decisions.
