Senior Specialist, Category Management (Metal Products)

Location: Remote; field-based supplier work with approximately 20% travel to supplier locations, including possible international travel. Many positions may require the ability to obtain a security clearance, which may be granted only to U.S. citizens.

Salary: $84,000–$156,000 for California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, the Greater D.C. area, Denver, and NYC; $73,000–$135,000 for Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland, Ohio, Vermont, and Virginia.

What you will do

• Assess metal products, precision machining, and raw material supply bases to support DoD programs.
• Identify new suppliers and lead supplier capability assessments.
• Coordinate procurement, engineering, quality, and operations teams on risk assessments and recommendations.
• Develop reports and presentation packages for senior leadership.
• Negotiate long-term supplier agreements covering capacity, investment, and unit price.
• Support critical material capacity projects, including applicable IFRs and budgets, across multiple programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years of relevant metal products experience; alternatively, a graduate degree and 4 years of experience, or 10 years of relevant experience without a degree.
• Experience in supply chain, project management, and coordinating multiple projects.
• Strong organizational, meeting leadership, presentation, and business case analysis skills.
• Ability to travel approximately 20% to supplier locations.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required; security clearances may be granted only to U.S. citizens.

Nice to have

• Experience with precision machining, refractory powder materials, rare earth minerals, HIP processing, castings, or forgings.
• Microsoft Office and MRP/ERP system knowledge.
• Graduate degree or a focus on supply chain.
