Buyer I (Manufacturing): Managing purchase orders, vendor relations, inventory control, and cost savings for an industrial manufacturing supply chain with an accent on purchasing accuracy, supplier coordination, and pricing discipline. Focus on processing and expediting orders, resolving receiving discrepancies, maintaining purchasing records, and supporting field installation leads.
Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States; primarily facility-based with minimal periodic travel as business needs require.

What you will do
- Enter purchase orders, obtain quotes, track confirmations, and expedite orders.
- Serve as a purchasing contact for departments and communicate significant pricing discrepancies.
- Support inventory control, cost-savings tracking, vendor setup, and purchasing records.
- Assist receiving with discrepancies and information requests.
- Support service field installation leads and other purchasing team members.
Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma; a related bachelor's degree is preferred.
- At least 3 years of relevant buyer experience, including cost-savings work.
- Experience processing purchase orders, managing vendor relations, and preferably controlling inventory.
- Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills; SAP or other ERP experience is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, professionalism, and ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
Nice to have
- CPSM certification.
- Experience in industrial product manufacturing purchasing.
- Mechanical aptitude.
