Managing Consultant - Operations & Optimization (Terminal Operations)

What you will do

• Lead high-stakes consulting engagements and advise port executives and terminal directors on digital transformation and automation roadmaps.
• Direct multidisciplinary teams of operational experts, TOS software engineers, and automation specialists across global projects.
• Conduct end-to-end audits of waterside, landside, gate, vessel, yard, and truck operations to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
• Optimize vessel stowage, quay crane scheduling, yard stacking, truck turnaround, and automated terminal workflows.
• Integrate TOS modules and align software logic with quay cranes, automated stacking cranes, RTGs, and automated transport vehicles.
• Train and mentor control-room operators, planners, and supervisors while tracking operational KPIs such as crane moves per hour, truck turnaround time, and yard density.

Requirements

• Thorough knowledge of marine coordination, gate logistics, yard consolidation, dual-cycling logic, and real-time exception handling.
• Operational experience in manual, automated, and semi-automated container terminal environments.
• Strong understanding of equipment behavior, traffic rules, buffer management, and heavy machinery safety protocols.
• Hands-on proficiency with N4, XPS, ECN4, Yard Crane Schedulers, Horizontal Transport modules, and related automation interfaces.
• Ability to analyze operational data, diagnose systemic issues, and translate findings into software or procedural improvements.
• Strong stakeholder communication skills across IT, engineering, terminal management, and unionized or frontline workforces.
