CAD Drafter III (Ground Support Equipment)

What you will do

• Own complex CAD design tasks, subsystems, product definition datasets, and technical plans using Creo Parametric 12 and Windchill PLM.
• Develop and maintain MBD datasets, 3D parametric models, 2D drawings, and product structures for ground support equipment.
• Lead mechanical, structural, fluid, and electrical design for launch systems, test stands, transportation equipment, and manufacturing tooling.
• Manage large CAD assemblies using simplified representations, shrinkwrap, family tables, flexible components, top-down design, and skeleton models.
• Author Engineering Change Requests and Change Notices, conduct drawing and model reviews, and support release and revision processes.
• Mentor junior drafters, serve as a discipline point of contact, and advance CAD tools, AI-assisted design, and automation workflows.

Requirements

• Two-year associate degree in computer-aided drafting, mechanical engineering technology, or equivalent; or a four-year engineering degree.
• At least five years of experience in a technical design role, with demonstrated expertise in Creo or Pro/ENGINEER and Windchill PLM.
• Experience creating fabrication and installation drawings for complex assemblies and managing large CAD assemblies.
• Knowledge of ASME Y14.100, Y14.5, Y14.41, GD&T, engineering change management, and PLM workflows.
• Ability to work autonomously in a dynamic environment, maintain professional relationships, and support a culture of safety and inclusion.
• Must meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Five to eight years of aerospace or heavy industrial design experience.
• Experience with Creo AFX, Creo Piping/ProPiping, Creo Cabling, MBD implementation, or AutoCAD Electrical.
• Knowledge of ASME B31.1 and B31.3, piping components, fabrication methods, precision cleaning, and passivation.
• Experience with ground support equipment, manufacturing processes, large assembly optimization, or AI-assisted design automation.
