Branch Operations Lead (Manufacturing)

Location: United States; work is performed at Smiths locations, including offices, manufacturing plants, repair facilities, and customer sites.

What you will do

• Oversee shop operations across shipping, receiving, seal repair, assembly, procurement, and machining.
• Supervise, train, interview, hire, and evaluate employees, including recommendations on promotions, transfers, and termination.
• Manage profit and loss responsibility for the assigned branch.
• Handle customer inquiries about pricing, quotations, part identification, applications, delivery dates, change orders, and seal repair services.
• Approve vendor parts orders, price orders, expedite customer orders, and maintain inventory accuracy.
• Coordinate warehouse, receiving, packing, and supply chain activities while following environmental, health, and safety requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in operations and distribution.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of machining and integrated business and manufacturing systems involving MRP.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to work throughout office, shop, warehouse, and manufacturing areas; lift up to 60 pounds and carry up to 30 pounds.
