Senior AI Engineer

Location: Remote, based in Greece or the UK; periodic in-person collaboration and regular team get-togethers are required.

What you will do

• Design, implement, evaluate, deploy, monitor, and operate complex production AI systems.
• Translate ambiguous business problems, workflows, rules, and domain constraints into measurable system behaviour.
• Build AI systems using model APIs, structured outputs, retrieval/RAG, agentic and tool-based workflows, predictive techniques, and model adaptation where appropriate.
• Design evaluation strategies for functional behaviour, groundedness, business correctness, robustness, and regressions.
• Establish monitoring and feedback loops using logs, metrics, traces, operational data, and evaluation evidence.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Platform, Security, Data, Quality, Product, and domain specialists while mentoring less-experienced engineers.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience delivering production AI systems and selecting suitable AI approaches based on evidence.
• Strong software engineering background, particularly in Python, distributed systems, APIs, integrations, data pipelines, automated testing, CI/CD, containers, and cloud services.
• Experience with production observability, troubleshooting, reliability, testability, latency and cost management, and complex failure investigation.
• Ability to understand complex business workflows and take technical problems from discovery and experimentation through production and continuous improvement.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.

Nice to have

• Experience with MCP or equivalent tool and context interoperability patterns.
• Experience with LangGraph, Temporal, or equivalent orchestration technologies.
• Experience with model adaptation, fine-tuning, predictive ML, unstructured data, or large-scale knowledge and retrieval systems.
• Knowledge of AI security, privacy, responsible AI, anomaly detection, intelligent monitoring, or AI-assisted operational analysis.
