Associate General Counsel, Litigation (Fintech)

Location: Washington, D.C. or New York, United States; hybrid work with at least 3 days per week in-office

Base salary: $139,000–$243,000 per year, plus potential annual bonus/commission, equity, and benefits.

hirify.global operates a multinational financial technology business with a legal department advising management on legal and regulatory matters.

What you will do

• Represent hirify.global in SEC administrative proceedings and appeals from listing and delisting determinations.
• Handle proceedings before the hirify.global Hearings Panel, the hirify.global Listing and Hearing Review Council, and the SEC.
• Draft and review briefs, motions, rule filings, and other documents related to administrative proceedings and appeals.
• Coordinate with listing qualifications, hearings, business, and compliance teams to develop positions, gather evidence, and prepare witnesses.
• Brief directors and senior management on litigation, regulatory investigations, and legal developments affecting the business.
• Assist outside counsel before oral arguments and court appearances, and occasionally appear for hirify.global in relevant proceedings.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of relevant experience in litigation, regulatory enforcement, administrative proceedings, or securities law at a top-tier law firm, global financial or technology corporation, or government agency.
• Substantive experience with SEC administrative proceedings or complex commercial litigation, particularly drafting briefs.
• Experience conducting or responding to inquiries from federal financial regulators.
• J.D. or LL.M. from a top-ranked U.S. law school or foreign equivalent.
• Admission and good standing with one or more U.S. state bars required.
• Strong written and verbal communication, judgment, professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in project teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with exchange or self-regulatory organization listing standards, delisting procedures, or rulemaking.
• Experience with SEC practice, administrative law, or exchange/SRO matters.
