Commercial Counsel (Fintech)

Location: Must be within commuting distance of a hirify.global hub in San Francisco, Chicago, or New York City, United States. The role follows a hybrid schedule with four days per week in the office and Fridays from home for employees near an office.

Base salary: $152,000–$210,000 USD annually, plus potential bonuses, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Provide strategic commercial guidance and negotiate, draft, and review SaaS, strategic partnership, NDA, marketing, technology vendor, and professional services agreements.
• Use AI tools for drafting, contract review, legal research, and summarization while verifying results for confidentiality, privilege, accuracy, and legal judgment.
• Create templates, legal training materials, playbooks, and improved processes for the legal function.
• Build and refine AI-enabled workflows that improve the efficiency of the legal team and business.
• Collaborate with business partners and legal specialists in intellectual property, security, and privacy.
• Escalate legal issues and communicate risks and proposals with executive stakeholders.

Requirements

• J.D. degree and active membership in at least one state bar.
• 2–5 years of combined law firm, government, and/or in-house legal experience.
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Comfort using AI tools in daily legal work and applying them responsibly.
• Strong business judgment, legal analysis, communication, negotiation, drafting, organizational, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work within commuting distance of a San Francisco, Chicago, or New York City hub and attend the office four days per week.
