Director of Futures & Clearing Operations

Location: Onsite in the United States; East Coast timezone. Relocation assistance is available.

Salary: USD $165,000–$230,000 plus a discretionary bonus.

Regulated US financial services firm building and operating derivatives clearing and connectivity infrastructure.

What you will do

• Lead, develop, and grow the derivatives operations team.
• Drive clearing infrastructure projects from requirements and design through testing and go-live.
• Own order routing, clearing relationships, and exchange connectivity.
• Serve as the senior escalation point for trading, execution, and processing issues.
• Oversee daily trade flow, back-office processing, margin, and risk controls.
• Partner with compliance, risk, finance, and engineering on new products and process improvements.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in futures, ideally 10+, at an FCM, broker-dealer, or similar firm.
• Deep knowledge of the full futures trade lifecycle, including order routing, clearing, margin, and back-office operations.
• Hands-on experience with clearing migrations, clearing integrations, or exchange connectivity projects.
• Operational background rather than a purely front-office or sales profile.
• Experience in a smaller or scaling firm where processes and infrastructure were built rather than inherited.
• Availability to work onsite in the United States.

Nice to have

• Active Series 3 license.
• Experience launching a new derivatives product.
• Familiarity with futures back-office platforms such as GMI.
• Risk experience involving client accounts and margin risk.
