AI Harness Engineer

Location: 100% remote, worldwide; listed locations include Copenhagen, Denmark; Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; Quito, Ecuador; Cairo, Egypt; and San Salvador, El Salvador.

What you will do

• Deliver new features and bug fixes with a focus on reliability, performance, and user satisfaction.
• Design and develop tools and modules that enable new AI capabilities across model types and sizes.
• Build and evolve AI agent harnesses, including tool calling, agent loops, context management, and structured outputs.
• Implement peer-to-peer technology for local AI and QVAC scalability.
• Maintain code quality through coding standards, code reviews, and automated testing.
• Develop evaluation and test infrastructure for non-deterministic AI systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building production software.
• Deep experience with peer-to-peer systems, AI/LLM tooling, or both.
• Strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills, including modelling complex state in synchronisation protocols and agent loops.
• Experience building agent harnesses with tool calling, agent loops, context management, and structured outputs.
• Experience designing for failures such as network partitions, model errors, timeouts, and retries.
• Open-source contributions to peer-to-peer, networking, or AI tooling projects.
