Staff Software Engineer - GCS Team (Drones)

Location: Tel Aviv-Yafo, Tel Aviv District, Israel

What you will do

• Own the architecture of a distributed, safety-critical, real-time ground control system.
• Evolve the system to support ten times the flight volume while maintaining operational reliability.
• Lead technically complex projects from business requirements and system design through cross-team alignment and production delivery.
• Set engineering standards through design reviews, code reviews, and testing strategy.
• Investigate deep production incidents, participate in on-call support, and drive issues to resolution.
• Partner with product, operations, hardware, and regulatory stakeholders to make effective engineering decisions.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building backend or distributed systems.
• Several years of leading complex projects with significant production impact.
• Experience designing systems that must be correct and reliable, not merely available.
• Strong engineering judgment, technical communication, and ability to lead through influence.
• Comfort giving and receiving feedback, handling ambiguity, and resolving difficult technical problems.

Nice to have

• Experience with safety-critical, real-time, or physical-world systems.
