Senior QA Engineer (AI & Automation)

Location: Remote in the United States, Canada, or Costa Rica; not open to British Columbia residents. A mandatory in-person interview is required at the Salt Lake City office before an offer.

What you will do

• Build and maintain scalable Playwright automation for web, API, and mobile testing.
• Use AI coding assistants and testing agents to generate test plans, test cases, page objects, and test data.
• Review and harden AI-generated tests, reduce flakiness, and automate failure triage.
• Integrate automated quality gates, parallel execution, reporting, and release validation into GitHub Actions CI/CD.
• Develop functional, regression, API, and performance/load coverage using tools such as Postman, JMeter, and k6.
• Define risk-based testing strategies, evaluate AI-powered customer experiences, track quality metrics, and mentor QA engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of QA and testing experience, including 3+ years building and maintaining CI/CD test automation.
• Hands-on Playwright experience for web and API end-to-end automation.
• Strong TypeScript/JavaScript or Python skills; Java experience is a plus.
• Daily experience with Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or comparable AI coding tools, including validating and correcting generated output.
• Experience with functional, regression, API, performance/load, exploratory, and risk-based testing.
• Experience with SDLC and Agile practices, Jira, TestRail, CI/CD quality gates, and defect lifecycle management.

Nice to have

• E-commerce QA automation experience in frequent-release environments.
• Agentic testing workflows, self-healing tests, MCP-connected tools, or LLM-based failure triage.
• Testing AI/ML-powered search, recommendations, or generated content.
• BrowserStack, Grafana, or GCP infrastructure experience.
