Commercial Lines Claims Consultant

Salary: $90,000–$110,000 per year

What you will do

• Provide claim advocacy and consulting services for commercial lines clients.
• Monitor the financial impact of claim reviews and communicate results to clients.
• Negotiate with carriers on special account instructions, claim denials, reservation of rights, and coverage positions.
• Analyze loss trends and business issues to develop claim service plans that reduce claim duration, severity, and costs.
• Evaluate complex, high-exposure, and high-profile claims, including reserving accuracy and resolution action plans.
• Partner with risk control, analytics, and placement teams on programs that reduce total cost of risk.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in a commercial lines agency claims administration role.
• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
• Advanced understanding of at least one Property & Casualty coverage line, such as workers’ compensation, property, or liability.
• Property & Casualty license preferred.
• Proficiency with internet-based programs and Microsoft Office products.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
