Senior Geospatial Analyst (GIS)

Location: McLean, VA, United States. U.S. citizenship and an active U.S. Government TS/SCI security clearance with required polygraph are required.

Base pay: $150,000–$170,000 per year.

What you will do

• Create, edit, update, and maintain vector, raster, imagery, web service, and externally provided geospatial data using ArcGIS Pro and QGIS.
• Maintain global geospatial datasets in enterprise geodatabases and support the migration from Oracle to PostgreSQL/PostGIS.
• Create, transform, validate, and integrate spatial geometries, attributes, schemas, domains, subtypes, metadata, and topology.
• Develop and execute compatibility, quality control, and quality assurance tests for geospatial data, systems, applications, and databases.
• Perform spatial analysis, troubleshoot data and database issues, and support GIS services, web maps, and geodatabases.
• Document data sources, processing and validation procedures, corrective actions, and collaborate with developers, database administrators, system administrators, project managers, and mission stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Geospatial Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• U.S. citizenship and an active U.S. Government TS/SCI security clearance with required polygraph.
• Five or more years of professional GIS or geospatial data-management experience.
• Experience with ArcGIS Pro or comparable desktop GIS software, multiple geospatial data types and sources, enterprise geodatabases, and Oracle or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/PostGIS or comparable spatial database technology, spatial geometry and topology validation, schemas, domains, subtypes, metadata, and data migrations.
• Strong SQL, analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting Oracle-to-PostgreSQL/PostGIS migrations.
• Python, ArcPy, or other scripting experience for geospatial automation and data validation.
• Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, Portal for ArcGIS, hosted feature services, map services, web maps, and related Esri applications.
• Experience integrating APIs, web services, imagery, or other external data sources and working with large or complex geospatial datasets.
• Department of Defense or Intelligence Community experience, enterprise data modeling, geospatial database design, or Esri certification.
