GIS Specialist (GIS)

Location: Based in Puerto Rico; must be able to commute to the hirify.global office in Guaynabo and travel across the island as needed. No relocation assistance.

Salary: $60,940–$103,598 per year based on full-time employment.

What you will do

• Capture, update, analyze, and maintain spatial and design data using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
• Manage geodatabases and maintain accurate metadata.
• Design maps for print and web-based use.
• Use remote sensing data, including LiDAR, to update elevations and classify surface types.
• Support and deliver GIS training, including developing curricula and training materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, geography, planning, or a related field, or an associate degree with additional GIS experience or training.
• At least 2 years of experience creating and editing cadastral data with the ESRI ArcGIS suite.
• At least 2 years of experience with spatial projections, datums, REST feature services, feature editing, cartography, and geodatabase management.
• At least 2 years of experience with GPS data collection, ESRI mobile solutions, and integrating survey data into geodatabases.
• At least 1 year of experience supporting or leading technical or GIS training, plus the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
• Fluency in both English and Spanish is required; travel up to 25% within Puerto Rico may be required.

Nice to have

• Experience automating GIS workflows with Python and Safe FME.
• Experience with Azure-hosted GIS solutions.
• Ability to communicate technical and business requirements to technical and non-technical users and identify process improvements.
