Payroll Analyst

Location: Remote, Slovakia; Kežmarok, Prešov Region

Base salary: €1,700 gross per month; annual bonus: 10%

What you will do

• Own end-to-end payroll processing for assigned employee populations, entities, and countries across multiple pay frequencies.
• Perform complex calculations covering retroactive pay, prorations, severance, relocation, equity compensation, gross-ups, and taxable benefits.
• Reconcile payroll with the general ledger, validate funding requirements, and investigate wage and tax variances.
• Review tax filings and unemployment returns, manage payroll tax setup, and support tax-service-provider activities.
• Resolve escalated Tier 2 pay, tax, garnishment, and deduction cases in ServiceNow within SLA.
• Support audits, system-release testing, payroll funding, treasury settlement confirmation, and globally mobile employee payroll activities.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of progressive multi-state or country payroll processing experience.
• Knowledge of wage and hour law, payroll taxation, garnishment administration, and year-end requirements.
• Experience operating a major payroll platform through the full payroll cycle.
• Intermediate Excel skills, including pivot tables, advanced lookups, conditional formulas, and large-data reconciliation.
• Experience reconciling payroll to the general ledger and researching wage and tax variances.
• Experience resolving escalated cases in a service management platform, with confidentiality and SLA management skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
• FPC or CPP certification.
• Experience with Oracle, ADP, UKG, Dayforce, SAP, or another leading payroll system.
• Experience with equity compensation, mobility payroll, union environments, collective bargaining agreements, or multi-EIN structures.
• Exposure to Germany and EMEA payrolls and the ability to build custom payroll or HCM reports.
