Senior Engineer (DevOps)

Location: Fully remote, with an office in Scotland; applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK

Salary: £60,000–£75,000 per annum, dependent on experience; a separate statement mentions up to £65,000

hirify.global is partnering with a growing organisation investing in cloud infrastructure, systems architecture, and technology operations.

What you will do

• Own and optimise AWS infrastructure, including EC2, VPCs, load balancers, and cloud networking.
• Administer Linux servers and production systems, addressing performance, availability, and operational risks.
• Support web servers, application services, caching, database platforms, CDN, WAF, and edge security technologies.
• Build reusable infrastructure provisioning and configuration automation with Terraform and Ansible.
• Improve deployment workflows, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability.
• Lead major incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement long-term corrective measures.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, systems engineering, or infrastructure operations.
• Strong Linux administration and production troubleshooting experience.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, EC2, VPCs, cloud networking, and load balancing.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Python, Bash, CI/CD, and infrastructure and application technologies including nginx, Apache, Redis, MariaDB/RDS, PostgreSQL, and OpenSearch/Elasticsearch.
• Ability to investigate outages, analyse complex interconnected systems, communicate clearly, and take technical ownership.
• Flexibility to participate in a shared 24/7 on-call rota, including occasional out-of-hours support.

• Experience with Akamai, CDN services, web application firewalls, and edge security platforms.
