Senior Product Engineer (AI)

Location: Rotterdam, Netherlands; hybrid work

Salary: €6,000–€8,000 gross per month

An early-stage company building an AI colleague and operational software for quality teams in food and ingredients companies.

What you will do

• Own and scale the production core of an AI colleague, including agents, workflows, data, integrations, and evidence trails.
• Build agent setup and evaluation systems, measure real-world results, and iterate under production usage.
• Develop retrieval and evidence flows that trace answers to customer specifications and source documents.
• Integrate agents with enterprise tools such as SharePoint, QMS, inboxes, Excel, Word, and customer portals.
• Improve infrastructure, security, reliability, and observability as usage and customer workloads grow.
• Set technical direction, close difficult technical decisions, guide the engineering team, and drive important work to production.

Requirements

• Production experience shipping AI agents or workflows used in real work, including evaluation, grounding, and evidence-based answers.
• Experience owning technical direction in a small team and taking important work from decisions through production release.
• Experience keeping systems reliable as load and operational complexity grow, with infrastructure and security treated as core engineering concerns.
• Experience leading a small engineering team without formal hierarchy and aligning decisions across the team.
• Strong TypeScript and Node skills with continued hands-on production coding.
• Willingness to work closely with customers and build solutions for real industry workflows.
