Senior-Staff Software Engineer, Tooling (AI)

Location: Onsite at the HQ in San Mateo, California, United States

Annual OTE: $130,000–$280,000 USD

hirify.global develops an integrated, privacy-sensitive, AI-powered physical security platform covering video security, access control, air quality sensors, alarms, intercoms, and visitor management.

What you will do

• Move common cloud actions from individual developer machines into shared tools and systems.
• Improve license-management workflows and the feature-flags system.
• Separate the monolithic support tool into smaller, more manageable services.
• Build AI-powered tools and tools that improve security and privacy.
• Contribute to open-source systems used by hirify.global.

Requirements

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a similar technical field.
• Experience with Python and/or Go.
• Experience with a major cloud platform, preferably AWS.
• Interest in learning new infrastructure products, features, and strategies.
• Comfort working at the frontier of infrastructure and software development.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Terraform.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience with a service mesh such as Istio.
